Our Training System
FlightSafety trains KC-10 crew members and operates two Weapon System Trainers (full-motion flight simulators), one Flight Training Device (non-motion flight simulator) and one Boom Operator Flight Trainer at both Travis and McGuire Air Force Bases under a nine-year Government contract.
KC-10 Extender
The KC-10A Extender entered service in 1981 as a modified McDonnell-Douglas DC10. The current fleet of 59 KC-10A’s is uniquely suited for both the air refueling and airlift missions. The Extender is capable of both taking on fuel as a receiver aircraft and off-loading fuel as a traditional aerial tanker. The crew consists of two pilots, a flight engineer and a boom operator. The KC-10 is operated by the 305th Air Mobility Wing, McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey; and the 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base, California. Air Force Reserve Associate units are assigned to the 349th Air Mobility Wing at Travis and the 514th Air Mobility Wing at McGuire.
“I can personally report that CDI has been there for our company when we need to resolve building issues. Several times our HVAC has not worked due to construction below us for the new tenants on the first floor - (we are located on the second floor). Most of the time, the HVAC had to be turned off due to upgrading their electricity. Andrea and Marchus are very pleasant to work with, either by email or to call and speak with them. They are genuinely concerned about their tenants and will strive to resolve any building issues, and have always responded in a timely manner. My company has been a tenant with CDI for 15 years and we are very pleased with how they conduct their business.”
